We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you all. Catholic Charities recently had the honor of welcoming Governor Michelle Lujan-Grisham on Wednesday, April 26th. The Governor addressed our Board of Directors and staff, sharing her early career experience of working in the non-profit sector, and expressing her deep empathy and compassion for those who struggle in our society.
During her visit, Governor Lujan-Grisham discussed funding for human services, with a particular focus on childcare and housing. As a Roman Catholic, the Governor is passionate about working with Catholic Charities to address the housing crisis in New Mexico. We are deeply grateful for the attention and support she has shown our organization.
The event was a remarkable success, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share our work and mission with Governor Lujan-Grisham. Her visit has reaffirmed our commitment to our life-saving work, and we look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on the community.
We invite you to take a look at the pictures of the Governor's visit below and share your thoughts and comments about the event. As always, we appreciate your support and look forward to sharing more updates with you in the future.

The South Valley Pride Day Parade was a great success with the participation of Catholic Charities.
We are pleased to share the exciting news that Catholic Charities participated in the Bernalillo County Pride Parade and Celebration Event held on Sunday, April 23, 2023, in South Valley. The event featured colorful floats, music, and dancing, and concluded at the Westside Community Center, where participants enjoyed food, live music, vendors, and informational booths, all in celebration of the vibrant South Valley community.
Our team of enthusiastic staff and volunteers proudly wore custom-made tie-dye t-shirts, decorated our truck with paper flowers, and carried signs that depicted our services while sharing candy with spectators of all ages. Our spirited and lively team walked and ran the parade route, spreading joy and positivity throughout the community.
Our participation in the parade is a testament to our organization's commitment to serving all people with respect, compassion, and dignity. We believe in celebrating the inclusivity of the communities we serve and are proud to be a part of events that promote these values.
We have attached some photos of our team's participation in the parade for you to enjoy.
We want to thank all the staff and volunteers who participated in this event and demonstrated our organization's dedication to our mission. We look forward to more opportunities to engage with the communities we serve.
