Center for Self-Sufficiency and Housing Assistance

Our Housing team is currently accepting inquiries regarding COVID rent relief.
Please note the required procedure below:

To inquire about eligibility for CARES Act rent assistance, please call (505) 724-4604 on Mondays between 8 am and 5 pm and leave a message clearly stating your name and phone number. A staff member will return your call throughout the week (this is a collaboration between Catholic Charities, HopeWorks, CLN Kids, and Enlace; you may receive a call back from staff at any of these organizations) with more information. Due to the high volume of calls, it may take a few days to receive a call back. We thank you for your patience.
If you are in immediate need of emergency shelter please call 311 or 768-2000
The Center for Self-Sufficiency and Housing Assistance provides housing assistance to individuals and families to assist them to transition to self-sufficiency and sustainable housing.  Our programs range from one-time rental assistance to long-term permanent housing programs.  For details on each of our programs, please see the tabs below.

Our programs rely on a self-sufficiency model where participants are assisted to find durable solutions through employment and other supports to transition them to a more stable livelihood. We currently offer assistance in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties as well as some outreach assistance in Santa Fe.

Current Programs
PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING: For individuals and families who have a disability or have been experiencing homelessness in Bernalillo County.
RAPID RE-HOUSING: HUD program for single- or two-parent families experiencing homelessness.
RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (RAP):
For individuals who are behind on rent or experiencing homelessness.
The mission of Catholic Charities is to put faith in action to improve the lives of those in need. We provide services to promote self-sufficiency, strengthen families, fight poverty, and build community. As the local 501(c)(3) affiliate of Catholic Charities USA, we remain dedicated to finding solutions to some of the most pressing social challenges individuals, children and families face regardless of race, religion, color, country of origin, disabilities, gender, age, or sexual orientation.
