Traditional and Permanent Housing Programs

ACCESS (Albuquerque’s Continuum of Care for Enhanced Support Services):
Albuquerque’s first coordinated effort to provide integrated services among member agencies, including Catholic Charities, Healthcare for the Homeless, St. Martin’s Hospitality Center and SAFE House. Services include transitional and permanent housing, case management, job development, social and parenting  skills training and housing counseling.

Proyecto La Luz:

This program is designed to support homeless single parent families. To achieve their goal of self-sufficiency, parents are required to work and/or attend school full time in an effort to increase their earning potential.  Additionally, participants are required to access all supportive services for which they are eligible, attend counseling and life skills workshops and prepare a budget. Rent is subsidized for up to two years with participants contributing 30% of their adjusted income towards their monthly rent.

To be eligible, applicants must present proof of homelessness, obtain a psychosocial evaluation, be sober for at least six months and demonstrate a clear desire to be self-sufficient.

Partners in Housing:

This program provides services to individuals and single parent who have a disability or who have been chronically homeless. Participants receive assistance in obtaining housing, disability benefits, counseling, child care and other services.

The program’s focus is to help individuals build a stable home for themselves and/or their children while they obtain the services that will lead to their enhanced well-being. Participants live in subsidized housing and contribute 30% of their adjusted income towards their monthly rent. They meet regularly with case manager, attend life skills workshops, receive support pursuing employment (when applicable), furthering their education or volunteering in the community.

Catholic Charities partners with Barrett House & Susan’s Legacy in this collaborative effort to end the cycle of homelessness.
