The Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) was made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 in collaboration with the City of Albuquerque and US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
HPRP provides assistance to individuals and families who are
- at or below 50% of the median income per household
- have worked for three consecutive months within the last 18 months
- are either homeless or have a lease that is within the Fair Market Rate and are either experiencing unemployment
- a significant decrease in income or an eviction/judgment.
Program participants are required to work with a case manager, attend life skills workshops and seek/maintain stable employment and demonstrate a desire to be self-sufficient.
