Children’s Learning Center

The Children’s Learning Center is dedicated to providing quality early childhood education. The Center focuses on services to children of low income families in two age groups: ages 12 months to 3 years (Early Headstart) and ages 2 to 5 years. Our center is a five star program, licensed and accredited, and committed to giving young children the necessary foundation for a successful transition to elementary school. The program adheres to the health and safety practices of the Federal Food program and each child in attendance is served breakfast, lunch and one snack each day.

The director and staff are certified by the Child Development Credential Program and are devoted to ensuring that children grow in a safe, caring and educationally stimulating environment. We use best practices curriculum that kindle a child’s imagination and thought processes. We keep our staffing ratios low to give children more one on one attention and give parents the peace of mind necessary for them to concentrate on working and/or going to school.

The goals of the center are to:

  • Provide quality, affordable childcare for the children of working parents and those who are attending the adult education classes at Catholic Charities
  • Provide a safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children
  • Provide the freedom and opportunity for children to develop physically, emotionally and socially
  • Provide respect for the cultural diversity of children by offering a variety of multicultural learning materials and experience and bilingual communication
  • Encourage social interaction with children and adults, thereby promoting a good attitude towards others
  • Teach good health, nutrition and personal hygiene habits
